The Department of Justice failed in their appeal (for a fourth time) to have Jimmy Lai’s choice of lawyer thrown out. 165 minutes later, Chief Executive John Lee held a press conference saying he has asked the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress in Beijing to re-interpret the National Security Law to bar overseas barristers.
