• Senior Bloomberg reporter Rebecca Choong Wilkins was denied a visa renewal by Hong Kong authorities after working in the city for 6 years.
Full statement:
• The latest numbers on BN(O) visa applicants to the UK are out, and after four years of the program being in place, the numbers are down 44% year-on-year.
The first ~600 visa applicants from 5 years ago have reached the finish line with permanent settlement granted.
A total of 181,609 BN(O) visas have been granted since the program started.
• HKIA had a good July, even with late month weather issues and Hong Kongers still afraid to visit Japan.
On that latter point, ’s harsh but ultimately fair assessment of the Japanese tourist numbers vis-à-vis Hong Kong visitors.
