HK Govt on alert for soft resistance against the LegCo election in December.
Preliminary report into fatal cargo plane crash last week expected within a month.
Olympic gold medallist likely won’t run in LegCo elections due to being Canadian.
And Ocean Park chairman takes on another challenging role.
All this and the rest of Tuesday’s news that matters 👇
• Tuesday saw the return of The John Lee Show, and straight off the bat he warned of nefarious ne’er-do-wells trying to affect the upcoming LegCo election in December.
Non-coincidentally after those opening remarks, no journalist asking him about the 12 x 70+ legislators retiring this year.
• The CE also talked about the investigation into the cargo plane crash last week, and while not answering the journalist’s question about whether the crew will be held in Hong Kong for the duration of the investigation, he did provide some more details.
• Chief Executive John Lee also announced he’s off to the APEC summit tomorrow as this year he’s actually allowed to attend because it’s being held in Not-USA, South Korea.
• Back to the LegCo election and one rising star in the pro-government arena, former Olympian Vivian Kong, was rumoured to be running this year, but has hit a hiccup; she’s so far unwilling to give up her Canadian passport, which is a no-no for LegCo.
