The government said on Tuesday it would look into the possibility of expanding the buyout plan to cover the only block at Wang Fuk Court that was not ravaged by the inferno last November, if half of the homeowners reach a consensus.

The budget presentation on Wednesday will be live of course as per usual, but it’s on at the exactly same time as Game 1 of the 2026 Bauhinia Falcon Trophy cricket series between Hong Kong, China and Kuwait. So there’ll be no live tweeting from me during the day. SCMP usually runs a live blog without paywall, HKFP will be covering it, and I’m sure Joel will be watching on.
