• Apple Hong Kong have released their “Tap to Pay” feature in the city, with merchants now able to take payments via an iPhone.
• One more body identified from the Tai Po fire, bring the death toll to 160.
The number of missing persons has reduced from 31 to 6, after police identified 12 persons who are safe, 13 who had died (four of them dying before the fire). Of the 160 deaths, 120 bodies have been identified, with the remaining 40 still undergoing DNA testing.
• Meanwhile SPCA says more than 80 pets are still unaccounted for from the Tai Po fire, with some pet owners wanting to be allowed back into their apartments to find the remains.
• The Hong Kong stock exchange launched their new HKEX Tech 100 index on Tuesday.
• Changes coming for associate degree programmes and other non-degree programmes currently offered by Lingnan Institute of Further Education (LIFE), with the programmes being spun off to a new operator, the Hong Kong New Emerging Technology Education Charity Foundation.
