NEWS
• With demand for positions from the mainland rising, so is the cost of self-funded post degree studies at Hong Kong universities.
• Good news for residents needing to use Bride’s Pool Road, with the repairs to the landslip on Tuesday completed in five days.
That is pretty impressive. Not many places in the world could/would do that.

• Ocean Park’s Wild Twister ride became the Wild Suspended-in-the-Air ride on Sunday.
Not the first time this year a ride has malfunctioned at OP. Is 107 minutes some sort of fixed time for repairs at the park?

WEATHER
• Tropical Storm/Typhoon Podul will skirt around 400km north of the city later this week, but rain bands are due on Thursday and Friday.
As per usual, if the tropical storm doesn’t hit us directly, the days before get super hot.
Tripperhead’s Useless Trivia Time!
The name “Podul” was added by North Korea. It is a tree usually found in towns and the countryside.
“In sultry weather people take rest and enjoy chatting under the shade of a Podul.” - that’s their description, edited into English by HKO, then edited by me because it was awful.
SPORT
Hong Kong has now grabbed more gold at the 2025 World Games than ever before, with two Wushu top podiums joining Grace Lau’s karate gold.
Anthony Leung picked up the city’s 2nd gold in Wushu Taijiquan discipline.
Then on Saturday Lydia Sham bested the competition in the women’s Changquan, Jianshu, and Qiangshu all-around event.
Hong Kong currently sits in an impressive 12th place on the table.
